Elderberry is an herb that is believed to have antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, antiparasitic, haemostatic, antitussive, analgesic, purgatory, antioxidant, properties and contains quercetin, anthocyanins, vitamins A, B, C, folate, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese and copper.
In traditional medicine it was used to treat colds and flu, reduce fever, immune boosting tonic, anaemia, reducing and regulating Cholesterol, heart health and protection, headaches, joint and muscle pain, as a mild laxative, infections of the respiratory tract and coughs, haemorrhoids, digestive aid, detoxification and immune support when cancer is present. The flavonoid, Quercetin, contained in Elderberries, is an antioxidant, responsible for the scavenging of free radicals (which damage cell membranes, disrupt/alter DNA and cause cell death) and therefore protecting the cells from mutation and death.
Directions of use: Not recommended for persons with Autoimmune disease.
Adults: use 10-20 drops under the tongue or diluted in a little bit of water 2-3 x daily. For a long-term maintenance or tonic, once a day is sufficient with breaks in between for optimal results (3 weeks on, one week off).

Storage: Store in a dark and cool place. It will be shelf stable as long as it is not exposed to direct sunlight or heat. Common sense is the best advice; If if tastes or smells bad, throw it out (that's to say when it no longer smells or taste like the plant represented).
