Flu-Away is a synergy of herbs especially chosen for their properties to relieve and resolve flu and colds while detoxifying and supporting the immune system, reaping the benefits of all these wonderful medicinal herbs in one convenienttincture.  

Plantain is a herb that is believed to have anti-histamine, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antiseptic properties. In traditional medicine it was used to treat colds and flu, infections of the upper respiratory airways, asthma, insect bites and blisters (topically and internally), allergies like hay-fever and intestinal discomfort.

Stinging Nettle is an herb that is believed to have anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, antiproliferative, antioxidant, analgesic, anti-infectious, hypotensive, and anti-ulcerous properties. Stinging nettle contains calcium, iron, protein, phosphorus, and vitamins A, K, and C, making it a good overall tonic. In traditional medicine it was used to treat hay fever, high blood pressure, anti-diabetic effects – lowering blood sugar (by increasing insulin secretion and proliferating the pancreatic B-cels, not recommended if using Diabetic-prescribed pharmaceuticals), osteoarthritis, arthritis and chronic myalgia, pain in muscles and joints, eczema, gout, anaemia, heart health, early stages of enlarged prostrate, enlarged spleen, Heavy Menstrual relief, improve blood circulation and an overall tonic.

Dandelion is a ‘bitter’ herb that is believed to be an anti-oxidant, gentle diuretic, detoxifying, galactagogue, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, and contains Vitamin A, B, C D and minerals iron, potassium, calcium and zinc.

In traditional medicine it was used to treat urinary tract inflammation, bowel inflammation, detoxifying and a mild diuretic for the whole body (especially good for the kidneys, liver and spleen), Pancreatic support (regulating blood sugar), anti-cancerous (especially for the digestive tract), a tonic for immune support, and being a ‘bitter’ herb, it is good for bloating & digestive support.

Elderberry is an herb that is believed to have antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, antiparasitic, haemostatic, antitussive, analgesic, purgatory, antioxidant, properties and contains quercetin, anthocyanins, vitamins A, B, C, folate, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese and copper.

In traditional medicine it was used to treat colds and flu, reduce fever, immune boosting tonic, anaemia, reducing and regulating Cholesterol, heart health and protection, headaches, joint and muscle pain, as a mild laxative, infections of the respiratory tract and coughs, haemorrhoids, digestive aid, detoxification and immune support when cancer is present. The flavonoid, Quercetin, contained in Elderberries, is an antioxidant, responsible for the scavenging of free radicals (which damage cell membranes, disrupt/alter DNA and cause cell death) and therefore protecting the cells from mutation and death.

 

In traditional medicine it was used for colds/flu, sinus infections, coughs and to thin mucus in the lungs/stomach/intestines, kidney and bladder concerns including bladder infection, rheumatism, allergies, detoxifying, parasitic infections and as a dewormer.

Directions of use:

Adults: use 10-20 drops under the tongue or diluted in a little bit of water 2-3 x daily for up to 3 weeks. For best results: use in a ‘3 weeks on, one week off’ cycle.

 

Consult your doctor before use and if ailment continues/worsens.

We use organic certified and organically grown ingredient where possible, with no synthetic color, fragrance or harmful chemicals.

 

Plantain, Stinging Nettle, Dandelion & Elderberry extracted by proof Alcohol, diluted to 40% for use.

 

Storage:

Store in a dark and cool place. It will be shelf stable as long as it is not exposed to direct sunlight or heat. Common sense is the best advice; If if tastes or smells bad, throw it out (that's to say when it no longer smells or taste like the plant represented).
